Introduction
Common issues have been identified by teachers and school leaders and often present them with difficulty in identifying relevant adjustments.
These include:
- Helping students to independently complete tasks
- Effective use of teaching assistants
- Managing differentiation (adjusting the curriculum, instruction, assessment and environment for students with different needs in the same class).
- Managing challenging behaviours.
Using this website, you will work your way through the following steps:
- Identify Adjustments – Descriptions of issues for which you may have difficulty identifying and strategies you can put in place to support specific students or groups of students.
- Proactive Strategies – Strategies which are simple, good practices you should consider first.
- Diagnostic Checklist – Assist in identifying appropriate strategies.
- Foundation Strategies – Strategies which can be implemented fairly easily and sometimes at the class level.
- Intensive Strategies – Strategies which are more individualised for specific students and require more time, effort and resources.
